  • Pyxis

Oscillator pyxis / adaption of mutable instruments "plaits" / 8 HP ⇣ PYXIS condenses all of Plaits' functionalities into a more compact hp footprint, while further pushing the principle of "simplicity first" to unparalleled heights. 1/3 key features Please check out the original module by Émilie Gillet which is an all time Eurorack classic already Illuminated Pyxis Logo Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 8 HP depth: 28 mm power: 50 mA @ +12V / 5 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual In order to easily tweak and change the sounds there are four main potentiometers that will change Timbre, Harmonics, Morph and Variant, which is any possible mixture of OUT and AUX. Freq has been put onto a small trimmer potentiometer to avoid any accidental change in pitch. On the bottom of the panel you will find all necessary jacks to control Pyxis via CV. Timbre, Morph and Freq have dedicated attenuverters to adjust the incoming CV signals. Yeah…but…where are the LEDs? Instead of always directly jumping to chord mode and watching the LEDs change, isn‘t it much better to listen and trust your ears to choose the right sound? Tweak the four potentiometers, change the program with the two buttons (Sound and Percussion Mode) and listen to the wide range of sounds Pyxis is able to generate. Let yourself be surprised what is hidden behind the programs you would usually not choose following the LED indicators. • LFOR

Modulation & Random lfor / digital lfo and stepped random generator / 4 HP ⇣ Combining a digital Low Frequency Oscillator with a Stepped Random Generator, this module offers three distinct voltage outputs in the form of Pulse, Triangle, and Random waveforms. The LFO functions as both a voltage and trigger source, while the Stepped Random feature can be seamlessly looped for continuous operation. LFOR_BACK.jpg 1/3 key features LFO with 3 Waveforms Triangle, Pulse and Stepped Random LFO Rate potentiometer Voltage Control over Rate LFO Reset Stepped Random lockable to 16 or 8 steps Random Voltages normalized to LFO Rate Pulse can act as Rythm Generator Wrong polarity protection Skiff friendly specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 28 mm power: 25 mA @ +12V / 20 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The LFO provides three voltages in shape of Pulse, Triangle and Random. It can be used as a voltage and trigger source. The frequency of the LFO can be changed using the Rate potentiometer on top. The LED is indicating the current speed. The Rate of the LFO may be voltage controlled using the Rate CV jack. The small potentiometer acts as an attenuator. Additionally the LFO cycle can be reset via a trigger signal at the Reset jack. The Triangle output provides a standard triangle waveform. Random supplies a randomly stepped voltage at LFO rate. This random voltage is normalized to the LFO CV in creating some interesting random voltages on the other outputs. This connection can be interrupted by inserting a patch cable to Rate CV. Using the Random Lock Switch it is possible to lock the random steps to identical patterns of 16 (mid position) or 8 (down position) steps. If the switch is positioned upwards it is completely random. Patching a voltage to RNDM CV will give you CV control of the Random Lock (switch must be in mid position). Any voltage above 3 volts will produce random steps, any voltage below 4 volts will lock the random out to a pattern of 8 steps. Pulse out is not a typical pulse wave you would expect from an LFO. It is rather a rythmical trigger producing one long pulse at the start of the cycle and a short pulse at the end. This way and by the normalized random voltage (if the CV attenuator is turned clockwise), you will have a wide range of random or locked pulses to trigger VCAs or sequencers. A simple AVR-programmer is neccessary to complete the build. Nevertheless it is a very easy build with only 37 parts in total. prev Up next

  • Path

Sequencer path / dual sequential switch / 10 HP ⇣ PATH proves to be an invaluable asset for distributing signals across various destinations while maintaining rhythmic coherence. It's equally adept at directing multiple CV signals to a single destination, resulting in dynamic and evolving envelopes. Remarkably, PATH also facilitates sequential audio signal routing and switching, adding to its versatile capabilities. 1/3 key features Dual Sequential Switch 2x4 bidirectional Outputs 2x1 bidirectional Inputs Reset Input Sequence Loop to 2, 3 or 4 Steps Mix Output Attenuverter for Each Side LED Indicators Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 10 HP depth: 28 mm power: 45 mA @ +12V / 50 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual PATH is a dual four position switch that can be controlled with a trigger signal. Any signal that is fed to I/O A or I/O B is being supplied on one of the 4 fours I/O jacks depending on the switch position. This is an easy way to sequentially route one or two sources to four different destinations on each side. As the inputs are bidirectional you may also route 4 or 8 different signals to one or two destinations depending on the switch state if you insert signals into the eight I/O 1-4 jacks and forward the signal using the two I/O A and B jacks. When a trigger is inserted into the Trig Input the first jack I/O 1 is activated and a signal is passed through. With the next trigger jack I/O 2 is activated and so on. After the fourth jack the fist jack will be on again. If you want to shorten the sequence, you may use the switches to loop the sequence to 2, 3 or 4 steps on each side individually. A trigger on the Reset Inputs will reset the sequence to the first step independently for each side. Additionally the Inputs I/O A and B or the currently active I/O 1-4 jacks will be supplied on the Mix Jack depending on the direction you have patched. Each side may be attenuverted using the the potentiometers on top. An LED is indicating the currently mixed signal. prev Up next

  • Oberhausen

Oscillator oberhausen / analog complex oscillator / 42 HP ⇣ OBERHAUSEN is a CEM3340 based Dual Voltage Controlled Analog Oscillator designed to create a wide range of complex waveforms. It wasn't designed to offer the most perfect waveforms, but definitely ones with lots of character and grit. OBERHAUSEN features two principle oscillators and two modulation oscillators. 1/3 key features Analog Complex Oscillator 2x CEM3340 based Principal Oscillator 2x Modulation Oscillator 8x Waveform Output Mix Waveforms with 8 Slide Potentiometers Blend Principal Oscillators to One Main Output Create a Wide Range of Different Waveforms Skiff Friendly Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads Width: 42 HP Depth: 28 mm Power: 110 mA @ +12V / 90 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual Both principal oscillators offer five different waveforms. Each waveform´s level can be adjusted with a dedicated volume slide potentiometer and is available at a separate output jack. The sum of the OSC1 and OSC2 waveforms can be blended either manually with the large potentiometer in the middle of the module or via CV and is available at the main OUT socket. Each sum is also supplied at the OSC1 and OSC2 output jacks separately (after BLEND). OSC1 (Principal Oscillator) NOISE - White Noise with a fixed high pass filter at 320Hz. SUB - Two Sub-octave waves based on the SAWTOOTH waveform. They can be activated individually with the SUB -1 and SUB-2 switches. PULSE - PULSE waveform with adjustable PULSE-WIDTH via PW knob or CV with a dedicated attenuator PWM CV. TRI/SAW - Either a TRIANGLE or SAWTOOTH waveform according to the TRI/SAW switch. TONE - Accentuates either low or high frequencies of all OSC1 waveforms. FM - FM input for either EXPONENTIAL or LINEAR FM, adjustable via FM switch (mid position is off). V/OCT - 1V per octave input and a precision duplicate output of the incoming CV signal for further external processing. FRONT PANEL CALIBRATION & GAIN - A trimmer potentiometer for V/OCT tuning and OSC GAIN is located on the front side of the module. OSC2 (Principal Oscillator) TRI/SAW - Either a TRIANGLE or SAWTOOTH waveform according to the TRI/SAW switch. PULSE - PULSE waveform with adjustable PULSE-WIDTH via PW knob or CV with a dedicated attenuator PWM CV. OSC1´s PWM CV input is normalized to the OSC2 pulse-width modulation input. TIMBRE - Buchla inspired timbre generator. The timbre setting can be changed with the TIMBRE knob or via the CV input with an attenuator. SINE - Pure and analog SINE wave. FM - Either EXPONENTIAL or LINEAR FM, adjustable via FM switch (mid position is off). Can be generated internally or via external CV. FM VCA - The FM input´s amplification can be controlled via an internal VCA. As soon as a jack is plugged into the FM VCA input jack FM modulation will only be applied in accordance to an incoming CV signal (such as an LFO or Envelope Generator). OSC SYNC - OSC2 can be loosely or tightly synced to OSC1. OVERLOAD - Feedback Distortion with Clipping LED for all OSC2 waveforms. V/OCT - Separate 1V per octave input. OSC1´s 1V/OCT signal is multiplied via a precision buffer and normalized to OSC2´s 1V/OCT input, if no jack is present at the OSC2 V/OCT input. This routing can also be deactivated with the V/OCT INV switch. Additionally the normalized V/OCT signal can be inverted and routed to OSC2, if the V/OCT INV switch is in the down position. FM OSC (Modulation Oscillator) FM OSC only modulates OSC2´s frequency. The RATE can be set with the FM RATE knob. The oscillator´s waveform can be changed from TRIANGLE to OFF to SQUARE WAVE with the FM switch. The amount of modulation applied can be adjusted with the FM CV attenuator, if no jack is plugged into the FM input jack. An LED indicates if FM modulation is active taking any FM VCA modulation into account. With the help of the the FM switch the modulation type can be set to either exponential or linear. MOD OSC (Modulation Oscillator) The MOD OSC is a low frequency oscillator that internally controls BLEND CV, OSC2 TIMBRE CV and OSC1 PWM CV (which is normalized to OSC2 PWM CV). Its RATE can be adjusted with the MOD knob and the final depth is set by the destination CV attenuators BLEND CV, PWM CV and TIMBRE CV. The oscillator´s waveform can be changed from TRIANGLE to OFF to SQUARE WAVE with the MOD switch. MIX & BLEND In order to mix both principal oscillators and their waveforms OBERHAUSEN features two 4-channel mixers and a additional blend mixer. With the help eight dedicated slide potentiometers each waveform´s level can be set. Additionally you can blend between OSC1 and OSC2 either manually, via CV at the BLEND input jack or internally with the MOD OSC and BLEND attenuator. • Phoebe

Mixer & VCA phoebe / 4-channel afl mixer with aux send / 18 HP ⇣ PHOEBE stands out as a highly interactive 4-channel mixer that seamlessly integrates into any Eurorack configuration, offering a tactile experience that complements diverse setups. 1/3 key features 4 Channel Mixer 4 x Mute / Level / Aux Send 2 x Send/Return (per Channel and Selected) AFL (After Fade Listen) via Headphone Out Smooth Transitions with Slider Pots Performance-Orientated Mixing Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 18 HP depth: 30 mm power: 70 mA @ +12V / 50 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual PHOEBE has four channels. Each channel has a MUTE switch, a LEVEL control and a SEND knob in order to use external effects. Underneath these controls there is the MIX/AFL Fader which determines if the signal should be routed to the MIX or the HEADPHONE output jack. In the top „MIX“ position the channel´s audio is routed to the MIX out. In the bottom „AFL“ position it is routed to the HEADPHONE out. AFL stands for „After Fade Listen“ and enables you to listen to the channels audio before you add it to the MIX output. It is similar to PFL (Pre-Fade Listen), but the signal is taken after the LEVEL settings in order to have a good mix comparison on the headphones. Imagine you are playing a live set and want to take a sound from the mix in order to add a new one from the same VCO later on. Simply pull the fader slowly from MIX to AFL in order to take it smoothly from the MIX out. Then change the sound, edit sequences etc. and listen to the result on the headphones first. Add the mix output signal to the headphones with the little MIX trimmer potentiometer and verify if the new sounds fits the mix. Then just push the fader up into the MIX position and the transition is complete. The upper position of the slider always equals volume that is set with the LEVEL knob. So it´s save to bang it up for breaks and cuts during your performance. You may adjust the headphone volume with the VOLUME trimmer potentiometer. In addition to the SEND and RETURN effect routing per channel there is also a second SEND S and RETURN S routing which lets you send the signal of several selected channels (via jumper on the back) with one knob at once. Both SEND/RETURN ways are active also when the channel is in AFL mode and not being supplied to the mix. This way you can add the effect return of a channel to the mix even if the original sound is currently not playing. All channels have dedicated GAIN trimmer potentiometers on the front. prev Up next

  • Send

Mixer & VCA send / aux send & return / 8 HP ⇣ SEND serves as an excellent performance tool, enabling direct interaction with external effects affecting your sounds. 1/3 key features 2x AUX Send & Return 2x Tone Control Input Level Attenuator LED Indication Wrong polarity protection specs & downloads width: 8 HP depth: 35 mm power: 25 mA @ +12V / 15 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual SEND is a send and return unit you may know from ordinary mixers. It has a mono INPUT with a LEVEL attenuator and any signal fed in is sent directly to the stereo outputs OUT L and OUT R. If you turn SEND A to the right, you can adjust the portion of the signal that is sent to the SEND A output. This can then be fed into an external effect and returned in mono or stereo to the upper RETURN (L) and RETURN (R) inputs. The TONE potentiometer accentuates either low (turn to the left) or high frequencies (turn to the right) of the signal routed to the send output. Leave it in the centre position so that the frequencies are not affected. The same applies to SEND B, the lower inputs RETURN (L) and RETURN (R) and the corresponding potentiometers SEND B and TONE. Both send s can be used simultaneously. Two LEDs indicate if a signal is sent to the send output. Gain trimmers are located on the front panel to adjust the gain of the send signal. prev Up next

  • Stereo Total

Utilities & PSU stereo total / mono to stereo converter, stereo width controller and imager / 4 HP ⇣ Mono: the original black and white movie. Stereo: the epic 3D blockbuster. Let's face it, mono might be the classic, but stereo is where the party's at! STOTAL_BACK.jpg 1/3 key features Mono to Stereo Converter Stereo Width Controller Stereo Imager Buffered Input Multiple Two Separate Stereo Processing Blocks Wrong polarity protection specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 25 mm power: 15 mA @ +12V / 10 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual STEREO TOTAL is a Mono to Stereo Converter, Stereo Width Controller and Imager. It consists of two building blocks. The first block A is a Stereo Simulator that creates a stereo signal from an incoming mono signal. This is done by splitting the mono signal in two separate signals, passing the left through an R-C network to reduce mid range frequencies and the right through an operational amplifier in differential mode to obtain an output as a difference to L. Knob A STEREO DEPTH controls the depth of stereo, but also places the signal within the stereo field. Because the signal is filtered, mid range frequencies will be changed as you turn the knob. Additionally the incoming mono signal is multiplied (buffered) and a lossless copy is available at the MONO OUTPUT jack in order to allow further mono signal processing. The second building block B is a Stereo Width Control that allows you to change a stereo signal from mono to wide stereo. This is achieved by summing both signals L and R to create a mono signal when knob B STEREO WIDTH is turned fully counter-clockwise and by splitting them via complete negative crosstalk, when the knob is turned fully clockwise. Fully clockwise the stereo signal contains no centre image at all. Initially the module was designed to be used with mono signals only, but you may also use both building blocks separately. You can convert a mono signal to stereo with block A while you can also change the stereo width of another stereo signal with block B. You can also independently convert two mono signals to stereo using both blocks at the same time (you need to patch a dummy cable to the right channel of stereo input B to disconnect both blocks). A mono signal to block A will run through both blocks when nothing is patched into the block B stereo input jacks. prev Up next
