WORKMATES is a series of little passive 0HP modules that offer simple but effective audio and CV processing in conjunction with your modular or semi-modular synth. Note that these are passive modules without any power consumption. As a result, you will have a bit of signal level reduction when patching a WORKMATE within your modular processing chain. Nevertheless these little helpers are very convenient solution providers if you run out of HP. workmates / passive eurorack tools / 0 HP ⇣ WORKMATES is a series of little passive 0HP modules that offer simple but effective audio and CV processing in conjunction with your modular or semi-modular synth. Note that these are passive modules without any power consumption. As a result, you will have a bit of signal level reduction when patching a WORKMATE within your modular processing chain. Nevertheless these little helpers are very convenient solution providers if you run out of HP. They are also the easiest way to learn SMD soldering. Practice your soldering skills without any fear of shorts and magic smoke. passat PASSAT is a fully passive 4-channel attenuator featuring four smooth sliders for intuitive level control. Each input has its own dedicated slider, allowing you to reduce the signal level by moving the slider downward. At the lowest position, no signal is sent to the output. At the highest position, the input signal is passed through unchanged. Input 1 is internally normalized to inputs 2–4. If no cable is connected to inputs 2–4, the signal from input 1 is automatically routed to those channels. This allows PASSAT to act as a simple passive signal multiple with individual attenuation per channel. As a completely passive design, PASSAT requires no power and does not consume any of your precious case HP. It is an ideal utility for controlling multiple audio or CV sources from a single point. Use PASSAT to attenuate Eurorack audio signals to line level, mix multiple CV sources, or precisely scale control voltages for sensitive module inputs. pix PIX is a passive mixer with 3 stereo inputs and 1 stereo output. Each channel has its own volume control and tilt EQ. With the EQ you can emphasize either low or high frequencies. Due to its passive design, a very compact format could be realized, with dimensions of only 55mm x 65mm. It was designed for use with modular level inputs, which are further processed by line-level devices with volume amplification. You can also use this mixer with line-level synthesizers, but you will lose quite a bit of volume. If too much gain is then used in the downstream processing chain, the noise floor can be raised to an uncomfortable level. Nevertheless, PIX has been used successfully with line-level signals. It has an input impedance of around 1.2kΩ at 1kHz. PIX is your solution for compact mixing requirements in a mobile modular setup. split Splits MIC MONO INPUT and STEREO OUTPUT signals to individual jacks from TRRS Combo Jack. The microphone input has a level potentiometer. Ideal for easy sampling and mixing with devices like OP-Z or tablets. touch TOUCH is a passive, touch-sensitive attenuator. Any signal applied to the input jack passes through your skin to the output jack. Depending on the amount of pressure and the moisture of your finger, the resistance decreases, allowing a larger portion of the signal to pass through. trs switch TRS MIDI type A to/from TRS MIDI type B adapter. Swaps the tip and ring of a 3.5mm stereo jack. Ideal for connecting TRS MIDI devices with different TRS MIDI standards (e.g. Novation device with KORG device). lpg LPG is a passive vactrol based low pass gate. It also has a passive low pass filter for subtle tone control. By choosing different kind of vactrols you will achieve contrasting kind of gate responses, from lush and slow to very fast and snappy. clipping cat CLIPPING CAT is a passive distortion that can blend between hard clipping crossover distortion and softened LED clipping that is only applied to negative peaks of the signal. Hence you can control the type of distortion from harsh clipping to a rather subtle distortion with more even order harmonics. “Clipping Cat” will wink if you turn the potentiometer counter-clockwise for softened distortion and will stare at you with both eyes turning it clockwise for harsh clipping. Clipping Cat is also availbable as an active 3U module! swap SWAP exchanges the destination of one or two sources (audio or CV) with the push of a button. This way you can route two different signals to the corresponding destination of the other input or route one signal to either one of two patch cables. You may also use it as a simple on/off switch. There might be audible clicks when using it to swap/switch audio. combiner COMBINER is either a 4 to 1 Passive Mixer, an or-wired Trigger/Gate Combiner or a 1 to 4 Passive Mult. Before soldering you have to decide which functionality you prefer. If you solder resistors you will get a four-channel mixer and if you solder diodes you will have a trigger/gate combiner. For a Passive Mult you just need to short the pads mentioned in the BOM. eq EQ is a one knob low and high frequency EQ with mid frequency range control. Turning the knob counter-clockwise will filter out frequencies above 1kHz and turning it clockwise will filter out frequencies below 1kHz. Not filtered frequencies are emphasized a bit to have a sharper sound when lower frequencies are filtered and to have more bass when higher frequencies are filtered. The little mid frequency range knob moves the cutoff range around 1kHz and changes how much the not filtered frequencies are emphasized. attenuator ATT is a simple attenuator that allows level control over CV or audio signals. If you want to use it for audio and you don´t have a logarithmic pot at hand, you have the option to use a linear potentiometer and solder an additional resistor for a fake logarithmic response. videos Up

- KRAKONG | ST Modular
KRAKONG is a duophonic generative synthesizer with a sequencer per voice, FM crossover modulation, an additional random modulation sequencer, one multimode filter with VCA, a buffered multiple and a resettable LFO. The design includes a collection of manual controls and connections for patching and CV control. "Krakong fits seamlessly into a series of well-known generative semi-modular synthesizers. It invites you to lose yourself in hours of sound design and keeps surprising you with new sounds and sequences." MAIN FEATURES KRAKONG is a duophonic generative synthesizer with a sequencer per voice, FM crossover modulation, an additional random modulation sequencer, one multimode filter with VCA, a buffered multiple and a resettable LFO. The design includes a collection of manual controls and connections for patching and CV control. It fits into a standard Eurorack case with at least 80 HP (3U). Each of the unit's two voices consists of a triangle and a square wave oscillator, a shift register sequencer, a decay envelope generator and a filter-based gate. In addition to the two synthesizer voices, which can be manually distributed in the stereo field, a third ring-modulated output of the two voices can be mixed to the main output. The tempo of all sequencers is determined by a clock generator, which can be controlled internally or synchronised externally to any voltage (audio and CV). This musical instrument has a complete structure that allows for a wide range of sonic possibilities, from rhythmic drum patterns and tamed sonic chaos to textural and rough synth-sounds. The essence of this unit lies in the exploration of the interplay between the elements of the synthesiser, using the three sequencers and filters, manual controls and modulation patch points. It can be powered by a standard Eurorack PSU or a small ST Modular PSU PCB that can be built separately. INPUTS, OUTPUTS & FEATURES 2 Oscillators 1 Ring-modulated Output of the two Oscillators 1 CV OSC FM Cross-Modulation 2 CV Filter-based Gates 2 CV Decay Envelope Generators 1 CV Multi-mode Filter with two External Inputs and VCA 1 Noise Output 2 Shift Register Sequencers 1 Random Modulation Sequencer 1 CV Clock Generator 1 Resettable LFO 1 Buffered Multiple with Inverted Output 1 Mixer with stereo distribution (panning) OSC I and OSC II PULSE – Output of the PULSE waveform TRIANGLE – Output of the TRIANGLE waveform RNDM – Amount of random modulation of the RNDM SEQ applied to the oscillator´s frequency. FREQ – Manual control of the oscillators´s frequency. FREQ CV Input – CV frequency input with attenuator. The oscillators don´t track exactly 1V/Oct. The MOD´s square wave output is normalized to the OSC I CV input. The MOD´s triangle wave output is normalized to the OSC II CV input. NOISE OUT – Output of the internal NOISE GENERATOR GATE (OSC I & OSC II) IN – Audio input. The oscillator´s TRIANGLE output is normalized to this input. RNDM - Amount of random modulation of the RNDM SEQ applied to filter. This knob also acts as a attenuator for the GATE CV input. CV – CV input for the GATE cutoff. The RNDM SEQ CV output is normalized to this input. OFFSET – GATE cutoff offset FORCE – Amount of DECAY CV applied to the GATE Resonance of the OSC gates can be adjusted via a trimmer on the PCB DECAY (OSC I & OSC II) TRIG – CV input for triggering the DECAY envelope. The SERIAL SEQ TRIG output is normalized to this input. DEC OUT – DECAY output (OSC I Decay output can be set to inverted via jumper on the PCB) CV – CV DECAY input with attenuator. The RNDM SEQ CV output is normalized to this input. DECAY – Manual control of the DECAY length SERIAL SEQ (OSC I & OSC II) CLK IN – Sequencer clock input. The CLOCK GENERATOR´s output is normalized to this input. CLK DIV – The normalized CLOCK GENERATOR input can be divided by 2 or 8 (selectable via jumper on PCB). CV IN – Changes the locked note per clock according to an incoming CV signal. This signal is mixed with an internal noise source that generally generates random notes for the sequencer. GATE OUTPUT – Random or looped GATES CV OUT – Random or looped PITCH CV generated from a noise and CV input source. SCALE – Range of the pitch of CV OUT LENGTH – Select the length of a SEQUENCE. You can choose 4, 5, 6 or 7 (selectable via jumper on the PCB) or 8 steps. Please note that a change of the sequence length might also change the notes that are locked per clock signal, even in LOOP mode. LENGTH CV – CV control for selecting the sequence length RNDM/LOOP – Button to LOOP a sequence. If it is not looped it will generate random notes and gates. ADD – When pressed simultaneously with a CLOCK signal, it adds a random note and gate to the sequence. DEL – When pressed simultaneously with a CLOCK signal, it deletes a note and gate from the sequence. MOD (Resettable LFO) MOD KNOB – Manual control of the LFO RATE MOD RATE – Changes the RANGE of the LFO RATE from fast to slow. RST IN – Resets the LFO cycle on an incoming trigger signal. MULT (1 to 3 Buffered Multiple) IN – Multiple input. The MOD triangle waveform is normalized to this input. OUT (2x) – Buffered output of the multiplied signal. INV – Buffered and inverted output of the multiplied signal . RNDM SEQ (Random Modulation Sequencer) CHANGE – Turn this knob to create new random sequences or loop them STEP/∞/OSC SWITCH – Controls if the CHANGE button is influenced either via the STEP IN input or the OSC I PULSE waveform. In mid-position no additional changes are applied to the CHANGE button. STEP IN – CV input to control the CHANGE knob (if SWITCH is set to STEP) in order to created steps of looped and random sequences. CLK IN – CLOCK input for the RNDM SEQ. The CLOCK GENERATOR´s output is normalized to this input. RNDM OUT – Output of the RANDOM MODULATION SEQUENCER CLOCK (Internal Clock Generator) CLOCK – Manual control of the CLOCK rate CLOCK CV – CV input with attenuator to control the clock rate. The RNDM SEQ CV output is normalized to this input. EXT CLK – External Clock input that overrides the internal clock. Any signal can be patched to this input (CV or audio). THRESHOLD – Sets a voltage threshold at which a clock pulse is generated. With a low threshold, clock pulses are already generated for very low voltages and conversely with a high threshold, clock pulses are only generated at peak voltages. In this way, you can use an audio drum loop, for example, to generate a clock signal and control the amount of clocks generated. MLTMD FILTER (Multi-Mode Filter) CUTOFF – Manual control of the filter´s CUTOFF frequency RNDM - Amount of random modulation of the RNDM SEQ applied to filter. OVERLOAD IN – External input with attenuator. If you turn the attenuator past 12 o'clock, the incoming signal is starting to clip softly. FILTER IN - External input with attenuator. FM IN – Frequency Modulation input with attenuverter (bipolar). The internal LFO Triangle waveform is normalized to this input. RESONANCE – Feedback of the filter output to the input. This goes as far as self-oscillation. RESONANCE CV – CV input for RESONANCE control SLOPE – This button changes the LOWPASS and BANDPASS FILTER SLOPE from 2-pole (12db) to 4-pole (24db). BANDPASS/LOWPASS/HIGHPASS – Filter output of the corresponding filter modes V/OCT – CV input with 1V/OCT tracking. This way you can play the filter with self-oscillating resonance as a third synthesizer voice. VCA CV - Voltage controlled amplifier input that only affects the LOWPASS output. T² – Pre-Filter ring-modulated output of OSC I and OSC II triangle waveforms OSC FM (Oscillator FM Cross-Modulation) FM AMT – Amount of frequency modulation applied to the target (OSC I, OSC II or both) FM CV – CV input to control the frequency modulation amount DIRECTION – Choose the direction of frequency modulation: OSC I modulating OSC II, OSC II modulating OSC I or both modulation each other. OUT (Mixer and OSC I & OSC II Panning) LEFT/RIGHT – Stereo Output VOL I+II – Volume control of the T² output before it is routed to the MULTIMODE FILTER. If you want to use the MLTMD FILTER only with another sound source, simply turn this volume down. VOL II – Volume control of OSC II VOL I – Volume control of OSC I MIXER IN – External mixer input. Audio is directly routed to OUT. VOL IN – External mixer input volume control SPREAD – Extends the panning for OSC I and OSC II in opposite directions and thus distributes the two outputs in the stereo field. The ring-modulated output of OSC I and OSC II remains in the centre position. This way you can also use the stereo outputs as individual OSC outputs. QUICK START GUIDE Please click the image above to open or download the PDF file . SO MUCH TO EXPLORE! Use the multi-mode filter in self-oscillation as a third synth voice . However, V2 introduces innovative enhancements like CV decay inputs and an added noise source for oscillator A, promising even more sonic possibilities. 1/3 key features Two Analog VCOs Two LFOs SQUARE and TRIANGLE Waveforms for OSC and LFO Cross Modulation CV Decay Fade Potentiometer to adjust the Oscillator Mix Trigger and Pitch Normalization Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 14 HP depth: 28 mm power: 55 mA @ +12V / 35 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The module has two oscillators that can generate square or triangular waveforms that you can seamlessly crossfade with the WAVE potentiometers. Each oscillator has its own CV decay envelope, a pitch potentiometer and can be triggered with a trigger signal patched to the left TRIG input as well as individually via the left and right TRIG inputs. A fade potentiometer offers the possibility to manually fade between both oscillators to adjust the mix. Noise can be added to the left oscillator A to make it a little dirtier. There are PITCH CV inputs with attenuators for each voice which, although they don´t track exactly 1 V/OCT, are very useful for changing the mood of each signal to create very organic and moving sounds. The audio output of each side is normalised to the PITCH CV input of the opposite side. The left side is connected after the VCA and the right side before the VCA to achieve different types of cross-modulations and to apply modulation according to incoming trigger signals. In addition, the module has two individual LFOs with square or triangular waveforms that can be fed to the oscillators for further frequency modulation synthesis. Both LFOs have an attenuator to adjust the strength of the modulation and a RATE potentiometer to change the speed of the LFO cycle. The signals of the two oscillators are mixed and output at the OUT socket. prev Up next
