  • Hapha

Modulation & Random hapha / compact locked random voltage / 3 HP ⇣ HAPHA is a valuable tool for enhancing the organic and enjoyable qualities of your patches. This module generates a synchronized random voltage, tied to an external clock signal, and offers the option to stabilize this voltage into a fixed sequence. It's particularly useful for controlling filters and other sound-shaping parameters in your modular system. 1/3 key features Random Gate and CV Clock Sync Lock CV and Gate to a Sequence External CV Input Skiff friendly Wrong polarity protection specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 30 mm power: 25 mA @ +12V / 18 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The idea was to generate random sequences by turning a knob. When you turn the LCK knob, a voltage between roughly +9V and -9V is passed to a shift register with an R2R digital-to-analogue converter, which stores the voltages from the pot with each clock signal. Depending on how the control is turned (range and speed), different voltages are sampled, resulting in a different CV and gate sequence. The SER input allows the use of external voltages which are passed to the shift register (mixed with the voltages from the potentiometer). The switch enables or disables the external voltage from the SER input. To use it, simply connect a clock signal to the CLK input. HAPHA will then produce a random GATE signal at the upper output socket and a random CV signal at the lower output socket. You can create and lock a new sequence of voltages and gates by adjusting the LCK knob, and an LED indicator will show when a voltage change occurs. For additional control, if you move the SER switch to the right, you can patch an external voltage (audio or CV) into the serial input SER which will directly influence the random voltages at the outputs. With an external voltage patched, you can still change the sequence by turing the LCK pot. prev Up next

  • Alstaden

Oscillator alstaden / analog waveshaping oscillator / 16 HP ⇣ ALSTADEN is your source for harsh and harmonically rich sounds. It is a newly developed waveshaping tone generator and resembles the secondary oscillator of the semi-modular synthesizer „EUPHORIA“. 1/3 key features Analog Oscillator with 5 Waveforms CV Waveshaper and VCA EQ and External Inputs Level-Potentiometers Linear and Exponential FM specs & downloads width: 16 HP depth: 30 mm power: 75 mA @ +12V / 65 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The waves are formed by a combination of diode clipping and folding of the waveform by adding mirror images of the upper and lower parts of the waveform. This creates more high harmonics and interesting timbral variations. It also features an equalizer, which is quite unusual for oscillators, but offers more sonic possibilities. The oscillator module offers five different waveforms WAVE A, WAVE B, PULSE, SUB and SINE. The level of the individual waveforms can be adjusted with sliding potentiometers. The range of the levels depends mainly on the gain you set during calibration. Distortion can easily occur in the upper positions of the sliders if you have set the gain high. The pulse width of the PULSE waveform can be changed manually with the PULSE PWM knob. There is also a CV input CV PWM with its own attenuator to control the pulse width via CV. At the heart of this oscillator are the two waveshapers WAVE A and WAVE B. Harmonics are added by wavefolding and can be changed by turning the SHAPE A and SHAPE B knobs. Additionally there is a CV input CV SHAPE A1 and CV SHAPE B1 with an attenuator each for voltage controlled wave folding. WAVE B has a second CV input without attenuator that allows even more control over the wavefolding state. The SUBOCTAVE has two stages of -1 and -2 octaves. Select your preferred division with the help of the SUB -1 and SUB -2 on/off switches. Unexpectedly, you can equalize the output of the oscillator with the TONE control. It accentuates either low or high frequencies of all waveforms before they are fed to a internal VCA. The INTERNAL VCA can be controlled via the ENV IN socket. Patch any CV here to change the level of the main output. Additionally, there is also a FM input. You can apply exponential or linear FM by feeding any (preferably high frequency) voltage into the FM input. Select an FM type with the EXP/LIN switch. If you set the switch to the middle position, no FM will be applied. V/OCT is the input for the application of a pitch CV. The pitch can be controlled manually with the PITCH and FINE potentiometers. EXT IN A and EXT IN B are audio inputs that allow you to use the oscillator as a waveshaper for external signals. When a jack is connected to these inputs, the corresponding internal waveform is switched off. The external signals will also be routed through the level potentiometers, EQ and VCA. • SPM

Mixer & VCA spm / 3-channel spread mono mixer / 4 HP ⇣ SPM becomes particularly valuable as it enables the dispersion of two mono signals throughout the stereo field within an audio mix. This capability proves instrumental in tidying up the overall mix, resulting in a more expansive and enjoyable auditory experience for listeners. 1/3 key features Analog Mixer 3 Mono Channels Pan CH 1&2 with one Knob Skiff friendly Wrong polarity protection specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 30 mm power: 19 mA @ +12V / 11 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual SPM is a 3-Channel Mono Mixer with three volume potentiometers. The gain per channel can be adjusted with trimmers on the board, making this mixer suitable for line and Eurorack levels. In addition, you can pan channel 1 and 2 with the SPREAD potentiometer and thus spread both channels in the stereo field to the left and right in opposite directions. In the centre position, all channels are panned to the centre. If you turn the potentiometer to the left, channel 1 is panned to the left and channel 2 to the right and vice versa. This is very useful to quickly clean up a mix and widen the sound spectrum in the stereo field. prev Up next

  • Zeitreise

Modulation & Random zeitreise / sample & hold, slew limiter and meandering cv generator / 6 HP ⇣ ZEITREISE is about the slow sequence of events that helps to take voltage on a journey through time. Its your perfect tool for creating slow and unpredictable parameter changes via control voltage. 1/2 key features Clock Generator Sample & Hold Slew Limiter 3x Slowly Meandering CV Noise Generator Internal Normalizations Skiff Friendly Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 6 HP depth: 30 mm power: 60 mA @ +12V / 45 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual ZEITREISE is the German term for "time travel" and the time in this context is a clock signal that is set using the S&C CLK potentiometer on the top of the module. It´s rate can be as slow as 0.2 Hz ( approximately 12 bpm) and as fast as 21 Hz (approximately 1,236 bpm). This clock signal is sent to the internal Sample & Hold (S&H) circuit. A S&H circuit in modular synthesizers captures and holds voltage samples at specific intervals, usually triggered by an external clock, creating a stepped output that is useful for generating random or sequenced voltages for modulation. With ZEITREISE, any voltage applied to the S&H CV input is sampled, held and output to the S&H OUT socket with each clock pulse received, either externally via the S&H CLK input or, if this input is not patched, via the internal clock generator. You can reduce the voltage applied to the S&H CV input with the corresponding attenuator. The S&H output is forwarded to a slew limiter. A slew limiter smoothes or limits abrupt voltage changes and ensures controlled slew rates of the input signals, resulting in smoother transitions and curved waveforms for modulation and sound shaping. The amount of slew rate that attenuates the voltage changes can be increased by turning the SLEW IN potentiometer to the right. You can also feed external CVs, such as pitch voltages, into ZEITREISE via the SLEW IN socket. This allows you to create a portamento effect for tonal sequences. Below the S&H and slew limiter you will find three meandering CV outputs REISE EINS, REISE ZWEI and REISE DREI that slowly change their voltage levels (+0V to +8V). The voltages come from different stages within the same circuit. Take these voltages from the REISE outputs and reduce their voltage levels with the appropriate attenuators. Please note that the LEDS display the voltage levels before the attenuators to provide better feedback on the status of each REISE output. These voltages are great for slowly controlling external parameters such as sample playback points in samplers, filter cutoff frequencies or timbre and harmonics in oscillators. There is an additional output at the bottom, which supplies either the clock from the S&H CLK input (patched or normalized) or white noise. You can select one of these outputs using a jumper on the back of the module. ZEITREISE QUICK START GUIDE: ZEITREISE_QUICK_START .pdf Download PDF • 566KB prev Up next

  • Stereo Total

Utilities & PSU stereo total / mono to stereo converter, stereo width controller and imager / 4 HP ⇣ Mono: the original black and white movie. Stereo: the epic 3D blockbuster. Let's face it, mono might be the classic, but stereo is where the party's at! STOTAL_BACK.jpg 1/3 key features Mono to Stereo Converter Stereo Width Controller Stereo Imager Buffered Input Multiple Two Separate Stereo Processing Blocks Wrong polarity protection specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 25 mm power: 15 mA @ +12V / 10 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual STEREO TOTAL is a Mono to Stereo Converter, Stereo Width Controller and Imager. It consists of two building blocks. The first block A is a Stereo Simulator that creates a stereo signal from an incoming mono signal. This is done by splitting the mono signal in two separate signals, passing the left through an R-C network to reduce mid range frequencies and the right through an operational amplifier in differential mode to obtain an output as a difference to L. Knob A STEREO DEPTH controls the depth of stereo, but also places the signal within the stereo field. Because the signal is filtered, mid range frequencies will be changed as you turn the knob. Additionally the incoming mono signal is multiplied (buffered) and a lossless copy is available at the MONO OUTPUT jack in order to allow further mono signal processing. The second building block B is a Stereo Width Control that allows you to change a stereo signal from mono to wide stereo. This is achieved by summing both signals L and R to create a mono signal when knob B STEREO WIDTH is turned fully counter-clockwise and by splitting them via complete negative crosstalk, when the knob is turned fully clockwise. Fully clockwise the stereo signal contains no centre image at all. Initially the module was designed to be used with mono signals only, but you may also use both building blocks separately. You can convert a mono signal to stereo with block A while you can also change the stereo width of another stereo signal with block B. You can also independently convert two mono signals to stereo using both blocks at the same time (you need to patch a dummy cable to the right channel of stereo input B to disconnect both blocks). A mono signal to block A will run through both blocks when nothing is patched into the block B stereo input jacks. prev Up next

  • Natural State

Filter & EQ natural state / dual envelope ducking filter / 16 HP ⇣ Natural State consists of two 24db filters with a CV decay envelope and an internal LFO. It is designed to filter two waveforms in the most ear-friendly way possible to create natural and organic sounding grooves and soundscapes. 1/3 key features Dual Filter Dual Envelope Decay CV Filter CV Filter Ducking Internal LFO normalized to Filter CV Envelope Output Slider Pots Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 16 HP depth: 28 mm power: 81 mA @ +12V / 55 mA @ -12 documentation videos description / manual Each of the two channels has a DECAY slider that adjusts the decay length, an OPEN slider that adjusts the filter cutoff, and a FORCE slider that adjusts the amount of decay CV that affects the filter. The STRIKE input takes any CV from +1 volt and triggers the decay envelope. Both the decay and the filter cutoff can be controlled via the CV inputs DECAY and CTRL. Attenuators can be used to change the strength of the applied CV. The decay attenuator also acts as a DECAY CV offset. A subtle internal LFO can be routed to the filter cutoff, which is attenuated with the CTRL controls. The LFO range is rather slow to create smooth filter sweeps. The resonance of the individual filters can be changed with the PEAK potentiometers. When the DUCK control is turned to the right, the decay of the left channel increasingly suppresses the signal of the right channel, creating a ducking effect. Both decay envelopes are also routed to the ENV sockets for further external processing. NATURAL STATE QUICK START GUIDE: NATURAL_STATE_QUICK_START .pdf Download PDF • 764KB prev Up next

  • Path

Sequencer path / dual sequential switch / 10 HP ⇣ PATH proves to be an invaluable asset for distributing signals across various destinations while maintaining rhythmic coherence. It's equally adept at directing multiple CV signals to a single destination, resulting in dynamic and evolving envelopes. Remarkably, PATH also facilitates sequential audio signal routing and switching, adding to its versatile capabilities. 1/3 key features Dual Sequential Switch 2x4 bidirectional Outputs 2x1 bidirectional Inputs Reset Input Sequence Loop to 2, 3 or 4 Steps Mix Output Attenuverter for Each Side LED Indicators Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 10 HP depth: 28 mm power: 45 mA @ +12V / 50 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual PATH is a dual four position switch that can be controlled with a trigger signal. Any signal that is fed to I/O A or I/O B is being supplied on one of the 4 fours I/O jacks depending on the switch position. This is an easy way to sequentially route one or two sources to four different destinations on each side. As the inputs are bidirectional you may also route 4 or 8 different signals to one or two destinations depending on the switch state if you insert signals into the eight I/O 1-4 jacks and forward the signal using the two I/O A and B jacks. When a trigger is inserted into the Trig Input the first jack I/O 1 is activated and a signal is passed through. With the next trigger jack I/O 2 is activated and so on. After the fourth jack the fist jack will be on again. If you want to shorten the sequence, you may use the switches to loop the sequence to 2, 3 or 4 steps on each side individually. A trigger on the Reset Inputs will reset the sequence to the first step independently for each side. Additionally the Inputs I/O A and B or the currently active I/O 1-4 jacks will be supplied on the Mix Jack depending on the direction you have patched. Each side may be attenuverted using the the potentiometers on top. An LED is indicating the currently mixed signal. prev Up next

  • Envoltura

Modulation & Random envoltura / dual analog envelope / 14 HP ⇣ Experience the classic charm of analog envelopes based on the Roland System 100M 140 Dual ADSR module, made snappier with intuitive visual controls. Furthermore, thanks to its built-in VCA, manual level controls, potent cyclical gate generator, and user-friendly trigger buttons, ENVOLTURA elevates your sound-sculpting prowess to new heights. And when you double it up, prepare for twice the thrill! 1/3 key features Based on System 100M 140 Module Dual ADSR CV Level Control Inverted Output Retrigger Input Push Inputs Short and Fast Switch Manual Trigger Buttons Cycle Functionality Skiff friendly Wrong polarity protection specs & downloads width: 14 HP depth: 30 mm power: 89 mA @ +12V / 56 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual ENVOLTURA boasts a highly responsive analog envelope with controls for ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, and RELEASE. When a gate signal is applied to the GATE input, the envelope is triggered, and a corresponding CV signal is produced at the OUT, with an inverted version available at the INV output. Furthermore, an end-of-cycle GATE signal can be accessed from the EOC socket, which outputs a gate signal when the sustain phase of the envelope ends. The signal remains high until the start of the next attack phase. The gate is indicated by an LED. You have also the flexibility to retrigger the DECAY phase of the envelope by applying a trigger signal to the RTRG input. IN addition to manual level adjustment via the slider level potentiometer, you can modulate the envelope's level using an internal VCA by patching a CV signal to the VEL input socket. An exclusive attenuator enables precise control over the level modulation. For dynamic modulation, simply patch any CV source to the PUSH inputs and manipulate both the envelope's length and level. Fine-tune the overall length range with the SLOW/FAST switches, and if desired, activate the CYC switch to let the envelopes cycle within specific ranges. Please note that cycling may stop for very fast cycles and that the envelope doesn´t restart from 0 volts. Finally, you can also trigger each envelope manually. Please note that both ADSRs are normalised to each other, so that pressing a button always triggers both envelopes, unless a patch cable is connected to the gate input of the other.
