  • Dirty Dan

Filter & EQ dirty dan / 3-channel vactrol-based analog filter and distortion / 10 HP ⇣ Meet Dirty Dan, the eurorack rebel who doesn't play by the rules of clean and tidy. Dan's all about embracing the mess, dishing out gritty goodness, and making those pristine waveforms second-guess their existence. If your sound needs a touch of snotty charm, Dan's your man. Just remember, he's not just dirty – he's delightfully disruptive! DIRTY_BACK.jpg 1/3 key features Vactrol-Based Analog Filter Three Channels Separate Distortion Stage High Pass and Low Pass Cutoff controls High Pass and Low Pass Two Clipping Modes Feedback Control Skiff Friendly Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 10 HP depth: 32 mm power: 58 mA @ +12V / 54 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The module has three input jacks. The first two inputs are directly connected to the vactrol filter. The third input first goes through an additional diode-distortion circuitry and is then connected to the vactrol filter. Each input jack has a dedicated volume control potentiometer. Hence you may use Dirty Dan also as a Dirty Mixer. The amount of distortion for channel IN 3 can be set with the DIST potentiometer. Additionally soft and hard clipping may be activated with the switches DIST SOFT and DIST HARD. It´s best to use a sine wave to hear the differences between the clipping modes. The distorted signal can be taken from the DIST OUT jack separately and is then being disconnected from the vactrol filer and the other two inputs respectively the OUT jack. This allows you to process the distorted audio with external modules. The filter itself is vactrol-based and has it´s own nature. The sound varies depending on the vactrols being used. It´s fine to solder retail vactrols like the VTL5C series, but the fun starts when DIY vactrols are being used. The sound from the inputs will go through a high pass filter, that can be set with the HIGH PASS potentiometer. Also a low-pass filter will take effect. This can be controlled with the CUTOFF pot. This pot is not called low-pass as you might expect, because the HIGH PASS settings directly influence the CUTOFF pot. If the HIGH PASS knob is fully counter-clockwise, CUTOFF acts as a classic low-pass filter knob. If you turn HIGH PASS clockwise the CUTOFF knob will also act as a high-pass filter in some knob settings turning it further than 12 o´clock. This way you can blend between low-pass and high-pass with one knob, the CUTOFF knob. Either low-pass or high-pass may be CV controlled. A third CV input controls both at the same time. The level of control voltage for CV H/L may be varied with the CV H/L attenuator potentiometer. The FDBK potentiometer sets the amount of audio being fed back into the filter circuitry providing a nice resonance to the signal. The range of feedback amount can be set with a trimmer on the back of the PCB. prev Up next

Tailor your setup by selecting the desired quantity of SUM CHANNELS or MONO CHANNELS to integrate with the SUM MAIN module. Each STEREO or MONO CHANNEL has a mute switch, a one knob EQ, Pan, a Send knob that can be routed to two different destinations, a Level pot and an AFL (after fade listening) functionality, which allows you to audit your sounds on the headphones before you add them to the mix (pre Pan though). Fully counter-clockwise the channel is only routed to the headphones (AFL), turning it clockwise it will be smoothly subtracted from the headphone out and added to the main mix (Mix). The SUM MAIN module has all output, send and return jacks, a master volume knob and a 6.3mm stereo headphone jack with a dedicated volume potentiomter. The Mix to AFL knob routes the main mix output to the headphone out in order to compare the channels that are in AFL mode with the main mix. This can be deactivated with a switch to only audit channels that are currently not send to the main output (AFL mode). Additionally there is a stereo input to integrade other mixers, like PHOEBE, SUM or uSUM for example. All stereo inputs can also handle mono signals. If you want to save HP it might be a good decision to add some MONO CHANNELs to your STEREO SUM. The send channels can be set to be active either pre or post AFL per channel via a solder bridge. ‚Pre‘ means you can still hear the send/return way when it is in AFL mode (thus the channels signal is actually not audible in the main mix), ‚post‘ means send/return will only work when the channels signal is routed to the main mix. Each channel has two separate GAIN trimmer potentiometers adjustable from the front. For enhanced EQ control of your mix, consider integrating the STEREO EQ . Additionally, you can enhance each channel or the main output with the STEREO COMPRESSOR . TO ENSURE THE MIXER'S FUNCTIONALITY, IT'S CRUCIAL TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE STEREO OR MONO CHANNEL, IN ADDITION TO YOUR MAIN MODULE. Up

  • Hum Protector | ST Modular

The HUM PROTECTOR HP200 is probably the most compact stereo hum eliminator on the market. It reliably protects your audio signal from any noise and hum. hum protector hp200 / hum and noise eliminator / 0 HP ⇣ The HUM PROTECTOR HP200 is probably the most compact stereo hum eliminator on the market. It reliably protects your audio signal from any noise and hum. key features 1x Stereo or 2x Mono Compact Design No Power Required Easy to Solder documents "Finally I have no more USB noise in my setup!" "I have never had such a compact and good noise eliminator." videos description / manual Offering either two mono channels or one stereo channel, the device comes in two variants. The initial version incorporates a more economical and compact SMD audio transformer, whereas the alternative version integrates larger through-hole audio transformer with marginally superior specifications. Despite this distinction, both iterations are recognized for their commendable audio quality, exhibiting no discernible differences. From a technical standpoint, audio transformers serve to electrically isolate connected devices, effectively eliminating noise and hum in the audio signal path. The HP200 functions as a desktop unit, eliminating the need for valuable HP (horizontal pitch) in a Eurorack case. Its versatility extends to modular setups, as well as compatibility with grooveboxes, samplers, and other synthesizers, particularly those powered via USB. To eliminate hum or noise when connecting your synth to a mixer for example, just insert the HUM PROTECTOR between the devices by connecting the synth output to the HUM PROTECTOR input and the HUM PROTECTOR output to the mixer input. This should resolve the issue. You can also utilize it to eliminate noise from an audio interface by connecting it to the interface output and the monitor's input. Will there be a full size jack plug version? Probably not, as the product is designed for Eurorack and USB-controlled devices that typically use 3.5 mm jack plugs. In addition, there are already numerous versions with full-size jack sockets. Up

  • Clanches

Modulation & Random clanches / branches with internal cv clock / 6 HP ⇣ CLANCHES is an 6 HP clock source and dual random gate. It is a modification of Émilie Gillet's module Branches. 1/3 key features Internal Clock Source Dual Random Gate CV Clock HOLD Function Probability CV Clock normalled to both Gates 3x LED Two separate Gate Inputs Probabilty CV Skiff friendly specs & downloads width: 6 HP depth: 28 mm power: 60 mA @ +12V / 35 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The internal clock indicated by the LED located in the centre is normalled to both inputs of the random gate. If there is an external trigger patched to one of the IN jacks, this connection will be interrupted. The gate takes a trigger or gate as an input and routes it to either one of its two outputs A and B according to a random coin toss. You can manually adjust the internal clock rate. A Switch changes the range from slow over moderate to very fast. The CV input gives you the opportunity to use control voltages in order to adjust the clock speed. Any signal above 3V will vary the rate. If the signal drops below 3V the clock generator is forced to hold. This way you can generate very interesting rhythms by just patching a random signal or LFO into the Clock CV. The internal clock is furthermore supplied via the OUT jack. The two manual controls P1 and P2 and their corresponding CV inputs change the probability of a signal to be routed to one of its outputs. In extreme settings, the outcome is no longer random causing the module to behave like a voltage controlled switch. The two LEDs on top indicate which output of each channel has been selected to route the signal. In contrast to the original Branches module the two toggle switches simple change the behaviour if the P1 or P2 is set fully clock- or fully counter clockwise. If you hold the button for 2 seconds once the signal will be routed to A and B alternately with each incoming trigger. In normal mode the will just be routed to A (CW) or B (CCW). prev Up next

  • Karl

Filter & EQ karl / multi-mode stereo filter / 8 HP ⇣ Karl is an analog multi-mode filter that is loosely based on the KORG MS-10 and MS-20 filters, but has been improved to handle two mono or one stereo audio source. The Resonance can still be varied independently per channel, which is very interesting when using two different audio sources at once. If you want to merge the two audio sources there is a Mix Out next to the two independent outputs per channel. 1/3 key features Analog Dual/Stereo-Filter 4 Filter Modes: LP, HP, Phaser and Overdrive Independent Resonance Control Mix two Mono Signals Mono to Stereo Converter CV Control over Cutoff Frequency CV Attenuator Expander Module Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 8 HP depth: 28 mm power: 56 mA @ +12V / 45 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual Karl has four modes: Low Pass Mode: Classic Analog Low Pass Filter High Pass Mode: Classic Analog High Pass Filter Phaser Mode: A small band of frequencies is filtered next to the original signal being passed through Overdrive Mode: If Resonance is increased the filter will quickly jump to overdrive, which creates some nice Harmonics The Modes may be changed via jumpers on the back of the module. In any mode the Cutoff Frequency may be changed via CV. The CV signal can be attenuated with the CV potentiometer. There is also an expander module available. The „Karl Mode Selector“ gives you front panel control over the modes and an alternative audio input for the right channel that can be activated via switch. prev Up next

  • Rocinante´s Gate

Filter & EQ rocinante´s gate / simulated low-pass gate with lfo and envelope generator / 10 HP ⇣ Rocinante´s Gate is not a classical low-pass gate (LPG) using vactrols, but goes way beyond that providing an adjustable envelope to control the "gate" through an analog filter. Sending a gate or trigger signal into the GATE INPUT will create these envelope shaped sounds you know from other LPGs. 1/3 key features Low-Pass-Gate based on an Analog Filter Internal Envelope Generator Adjustable Rise, Decay, Length, Fall Stages Internal LFO Gate Level CV Loop Mode Re-Trigger Mode Use the Envelope and LFO with External Modules Skiff Friendly Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 10 HP depth: 28 mm power: 54 mA @ +12V / 26 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The LOWPASS knob adjusts the range of frequencies being affected by the gate. If you turn it fully counter clockwise the whole frequency spectrum will be gated. Turning it clockwise will slowly add low frequencies to the gated singal until the whole spectrum is not affected anymore. ENV AMT sets the amount of how much the internal envelope affects the low-pass gate. RISE sets the time how long it will take the sound to go from silent to the loudest level. Just like the time it takes an LED inside of a vactrol to start lighting to its full potential. DECAY controls how long it takes to go from an initial peak to the "gate-phase" level. The length of this phase is varied by the LENGTH potentiometer. Finally FALL changes the time your sound will need to return to silence after the "gate-phase". Just like the time it takes an LED inside of a vactrol to shut down. RESONANCE sets the amount of filtered audio being fed back into the filter input. It can´t go into self-oscillation, but is able to create very crunchy and juicy overtones when turning clockwise. The internal Trigger Generator is being controlled with TRIG RATE and the RE-TRIG/LOOP SWITCH. Adjust the rate of the trigger and apply the singal to either a re-trigger circuitry that repeats the "gate-phase" as long as a gate signal is being applied or to a loop functionality that will create cycles of gates without an external gate or trigger. The ENV/INV SWITCH enables you to alternatively route an inverted envelope to the low-pass filter. This way you may create "ducking" or "side-chained" sounds. An internal triangle LFO can be routed via the LVL ATT attenuator to vary the amount of envelope that is being passed to the gate. The LFO will be deactivated if you turn the LVL ATT attenuator fully counter-clockwise or if you use an external signal to control the envelope amount by patching a CV signal into LVL CV. In addition to the Audio IN and OUT jacks you may take the signals of the internal envelope and LFO from the ENV OUT and LFO OUT to control external devices. In combination with the loop function Rocinante´s Gate is not only a Low-Pass-Gate, but also an LFO and ADSR Generator. prev Up next

  • Influencer

Modulation & Random influencer / multiple random cv generator / 14 HP ⇣ INFLUENCER offers a versatile collection of CV tools and creative unpredictability, divided into five distinctive sections, each serving a distinct purpose. With an array of modulation sources and an added touch of uncertainty, INFLUENCER stands as your comprehensive CV powerhouse. 1/3 key features 5x CV Generators Internal Clock & LFO CV Fall Envelope Sample & Hold/Track A/B Comparator Smooth Random CV Noise Out Input Normalisations specs & downloads width: 14 HP depth: 28 mm power: 110 mA @ +12V / 65 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The TOP SECTION is the VC INTERNAL CLOCK and TRIANGLE LFO. The rate of the clock and LFO can be controlled by the RATE knob or CV. The clock signal is normalised to the trigger input of the FALL section. The TRIANGLE wave at the WAVE socket is also routed to the WAVE/RNDM SWITCH of the FALL section. When the switch is in the upper position and the attenuator is turned to the left, the wave will affect the FALL length. In the lower position, the FALL CV is slowly randomised. The SECOND SECTION is a FALL ENVELOPE GENERATOR. It can be triggered internally or externally and its fall time can be controlled by the FALL TIME knob or by CV. An inverted version of the fall output is also available. The THIRD SECTION is the SAMPLE & HOLD section. In one mode, it can sample and store a voltage from the FALL CV socket and output it at the SP OUT socket when the gate at GATE is high (Sample & Hold). In another mode, it can pass through the incoming voltage when GATE is high. It then samples and stores the last voltage applied when GATE is low (Sample & Track). The modes are selected by the MODE switch. The STEPPED potentiometer controls the level of the incoming CV signal. Internally the CLOCK is normalised to the GATE input. The CV input can be fed by an external signal, an internal SMOOTH RANDOM CV or by internal NOISE. Please note that this section may produce noise bursts in Sample & Track mode. The FOURTH SECTION is an AND / OR COMPARATOR that compares two mixable inputs and outputs the MAXIMUM CV and MINIMUM CV of both. It also generates a GATE at B-GATE if IN B is greater than IN A. Note that MIN LED barley flashes with low CV levels. The LAST SECTION is a DUAL SMOOTH RANDOM CV GENERATOR. It provides a constantly changing CV at SMOOTH I and SMOOTH II, slowly meandering in about 60 second cycles. The SMOOTH CV input will affect the SMOOTH outputs in unpredictable ways, sometimes not at all. Internally there is another SMOOTH RANDOM GENERATOR which is normalised to the RNDM switch position of the FALL section, the CLOCK CV and the SOURCE switch of the SAMPLE & HOLD section. Like the others, this SMOOTH GENERATOR may or may not be influenced by the INFLUENCE input. NOISE OUT allows access to the internal NOISE GENERATOR. You could also use the module as an OSCILLATOR. • Radio

Oscillator radio / analog fm radio with autoamtic cv channel search / 4 HP ⇣ RADIO is an analog FM RADIO with an automatic channel-search functionality. It supports a frequency band of 83,5 - 114 MHz, has a built-in frequency control with signal quality evaluation and runs with automatic noise suppression. It is a never ending sound source and a great companion for your Eurorack sampler or audio mangler. 1/3 key features Analog FM Radio Automatic Channel Search with Signal Quality Evaluation Automatic Noise Suppression 83,5 - 114 MHz Bandwidth CV Control over Channel Search or Reset Volume Control Gain Stage at the Output Illuminated ST Modular Logo specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 28 mm power: 18 mA @ +12V / 10 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual By pressing the buttons CH- and CH+ you can activate the automatic channel-search function up or down the frequency range. If a signal passes the internal quality evaluation the search is ended and the radio signal is available at the OUT socket. If you want to change to another radio station channel-search is also accessible via CV. Simply patch any gate or trigger signal into the inputs CH- and CH +. Two LEDs indicate of a trigger or gate signal is applied. Channel changes can be really quick, if there are good signals close to each other on the frequency band. If the signal is bad the search automatism may need more time to find good signals leading to slower channel changes. The RST button resets the search to the lowest frequency. After reset you will receive some really nice radio noises until you proceed to the next proper channel again. You can also route the CH- CV input to RST via jumper on the back of the PCB. The module has two volume buttons for quick level adjustments. Additionally it has an active GAIN stage adjustable via trimmer in order to raise the maximum volume to modular levels. The patch-cable connected to the OUT socket acts as an antenna. It´s best to choose a long cable and move it around until you receive the best signals. prev Up next

  • Slopes

Modulation & Random slopes / sequenced quad slope generator / 12 HP ⇣ SLOPES is a quad slope generator with integrated gate divider. It is a good tool to create organic and moving changes that match the rhythmic pattern of your patches. 1/3 key features Quad Slope Generator 4x AR Envelope Attenuator per CV Output 8 CV Outputs in Total Internal Gate Divider Clock Input Internal Trigger & Modulation 0V to +10V Range specs & downloads width: 12 HP depth: 28 mm power: 75 mA @ +12V / 49 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual It can simultaneously generate 8 control voltages, which are mainly changed with the potentiometers RISE and FALL. The further you turn RISE clockwise, the longer it takes for the slope to reach its maximum voltage. The further you move the FALL slider potentiometer up, the longer it takes for the slope to subsequently reach 0V. Each slope can be triggered with a trigger or gate signal and outputs a voltage from 0 to +10V (inverted outs respectively -10V). If you need lower voltages, an attenuator is available for each slope. Outputs 1 / 2 and 3 / 4 provide a mix of slopes 1 & 2 and 3 & 4, but the mix can be changed by inserting an inverted signal of one slope with the "1 INV" or "3 INV" switch and the SHAPE 1 / 2 and SHAPE 3 / 4 potentiometers, which adds an additional triangle LFO to the two signals. The rate of the LFO can be changed with the RATE knob. In addition, there are inverted outputs for slopes 1 and 3. The RATE knob also changes the rate of an internal gate, which is divided by 2, 4, 8 and 16 and fed to the four slope gate inputs (from left to right). This connection is broken when you patch an external gate or trigger signal into the dedicated GATE input. One LED per slope indicates if a GATE signal is present. To synchronize the slopes to external modules, you can insert a clock or trigger signal into the CLK input. This overrides the internal gate generator and feeds the gate divider to trigger the four edges according to its division. The inserted clock or trigger signal is buffered and passed to the THRU output. The RST/DIR input jack can be used to reset the gate divider or change its direction. The functionality of this socket can be selected by soldering a solder bridge on the bottom side of the board. The slopes can be very short and snappy, but may also last up to 10 seconds.
