  • Envelope

Modulation & Random envelope / cv envelope generator / 12 HP ⇣ ENVELOPE presents a classic ADSR/AR envelope generator elevated by advanced controls and shaping capabilities. Tailored for crafting diverse envelopes, it offers precise adjustments that result in dynamic control voltages, adding an organic and captivating dimension to your sounds. 1/3 key features ADSR/AR Envelope CV Control over all Stages Attenuator per CV Input Shape Control for Attack, Decay and Release Internal Envelope-Controlled Amplifier Loop Function Internal Modulation 0V to +10V Range specs & downloads width: 12 HP depth: 30 mm power: 56 mA @ +12V / 36 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The length of each ADSR stage can be changed with four slider potentiometers. Times range from 1ms in FAST MODE to half a minute in SLOW MODE. The FAST MODE allows a very fine adjustment of short envelopes, which is especially handy for creating percussive sounds. There are dedicated SHAPE potentiometers for the ATTACK, DECAY and RELEASE stages. With these you can switch from exponential to logarithmic response curves. Each phase has its own CV input to control its timing. Dedicated attenuators allow you to adjust how much voltage is applied. The slider LEDs indicate if a voltage is being processed and if the timing of a stage is being changed. If nothing is patched to the CV inputs, the attenuators suppress the portion of each stage's voltage that is passed to the OUTPUT jack. This allows you to quickly change the envelope without changing the original slider settings. In addition, there is a CV input RF CV to control all rising and falling stages at once (without LED indication). ENVELOPE also has an internal GATE and MODULATION source. When the LOOP/RESET switch is set to LOOP, the envelope is internally triggered at a rate set by the MOD RATE pot. It also allows you to internally apply a TRIANGLE or SQUARE-WAVE LFO to any stage when nothing is patched to the CV inputs and the attenuators are turned clockwise. The rate of the LFO is also controllable with the MOD RATE pot. You can change the waveform of the LFO with the TRI/SQU switch. Setting the LOOP/RESET switch to RESET will reset the internal LFO each time a gate or trigger is received at the TRIG/GATE input. The TRIG/GATE switch determines whether a trigger or gate signal should be applied to the TRIG/GATE input. When you set the switch to TRIG, the envelope type changes to ATTACK and RELEASE only. If you need an envelope that is easy to change, this is the correct setting. GATE mode activates a full-featured ADSR envelope with many adjustment options. In addition to the standard envelope output ENV OUT, there is also an inverted output ENV INV. The voltage ranges of the ADSR outputs are about 0V to +10V for the normal output and 0V to -10V for the inverted output. To complete the packed feature list, ENVELOPE is also equipped with an internal VCA, which is internally connected to the envelope output. Simply connect an audio source to the VCA IN input and you'll have an envelope-controlled signal available at the VCA OUT jack. • EuroKastle

Oscillator eurokastle / eurorack version of the bastl kastle / 10 HP ⇣ This is a Eurorack adaptation of the renowned Bastl Instruments Kastle – a digital synthesis playground. Embodying the full spectrum of Kastle 1.5 functionality, this version features subtle modifications to seamlessly integrate into the Eurorack format. KASTLE_BACK.jpg 1/3 key features Please check out the Bastl Desktop Synths for further details and consider buying one - it´s worth it! Use with Bastl Kastle or Drum Kastle Firmware Illuminated EuroKastle Logo Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 10 HP depth: 28 mm power: 47 mA @ +12V documentation videos description / manual Switching between OSC mode and Rungler mode has been streamlined with a convenient switch, eliminating the need for intricate cable patching. Furthermore, each functionality is consolidated to a single input/output, simplifying your setup. Notably, our EuroKastle boasts a unique Waveshape CV attenuator absent in the original Kastle design. While we highly recommend Bastl's desktop version, the EuroKastle can stand independently. You can independently source all the required components, without necessarily needing the original. It's important to note that the PCB lacks an AVR ISP header. To program the Attiny85 ICs, a prior flashing process is essential before they find their place in the IC sockets (a breadboard can be utilized for this purpose). The programming process can be completed using any AVR ISP programmer. Powering the EuroKastle is a breeze with compatibility with standard Eurorack power supply units. Version V2 introduces AVR Headers to the PCB's bottom for direct ATTiny programming on the PCB itself. The diode pads have been thoughtfully enlarged for an enhanced soldering experience. Additionally, the CV Sources are normalized to the CV Input switches, facilitating instant modulation without the need for external patching. In Version V3, we've incorporated a jumper that allows you to transform the Mix OR OUT socket into a TRIGGER INPUT for the Drum Kastle firmware, enhancing your creative possibilities. • Duck

Mixer & VCA duck / duck ing module / 4 HP ⇣ If you ever have an issue with an overcrowded and muddy mix or you just want to achieve that „sidechaining-sound“, DUCK will bail you out without any signal compression. 1/3 key features Duck ing/Sidechaining Module Amount Control Duck ing Envelope Controls CV Input Wrong polarity protection specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 40 mm power: 35 mA @ +12V / 25 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual DUCK is a duck ing or sidechaining module that reduces the level of an audio signal when a CV GATE signal is applied. Trigger CV will work, but then you won´t be able to create slow duck ings. The module has four potentiometers that control the way the signals is „ duck ed“: AMOUNT sets the overall effect of level reduction. Fully counter-clockwise the level will be released to a maximum amount possible. Fully clockwise there is no level reduction at all. This lets you smoothly fade out the duck ing effect which is very useful in live situations. It also give you control over how much of the inserted signal should be reduced in level. HOLD determines the length of level reduction when the gate signal at the GATE input jack is high. If HOLD is turned to the left you will have a rather „plucky“ type of level reduction. RISE sets the amount of fade-in that‘s applied to level reduction. The more you turn RISE to the right, the slower duck ing is introduced, when gate is high. You can create some really slow fade outs with large rise values. The potentiometer is pretty sensitive here, leave it fully counter-clockwise to have short duck ings. FALL sets the mount of time the signal needs to fully recover from level reduction. In conjunction with RISE you may create some very slow fade-in and fade-outs with these controls. Obviously you can also set both to a very quick and responsive level reduction, especially if you are using duck ing together with a kick drum. Two LEDs indicate the signal level (left LED) and the level of signal reduction (right LED). Additionally you may control level reduction via CV. Any positive signal patched into the CV input will reduce the level of a signal applied to the IN jack. If you use the CV jack, HOLD, RISE and FALL will have no further effect. prev Up next

  • LFOR

Modulation & Random lfor / digital lfo and stepped random generator / 4 HP ⇣ Combining a digital Low Frequency Oscillator with a Stepped Random Generator, this module offers three distinct voltage outputs in the form of Pulse, Triangle, and Random waveforms. The LFO functions as both a voltage and trigger source, while the Stepped Random feature can be seamlessly looped for continuous operation. LFOR_BACK.jpg 1/3 key features LFO with 3 Waveforms Triangle, Pulse and Stepped Random LFO Rate potentiometer Voltage Control over Rate LFO Reset Stepped Random lockable to 16 or 8 steps Random Voltages normalized to LFO Rate Pulse can act as Rythm Generator Wrong polarity protection Skiff friendly specs & downloads width: 4 HP depth: 28 mm power: 25 mA @ +12V / 20 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual The LFO provides three voltages in shape of Pulse, Triangle and Random. It can be used as a voltage and trigger source. The frequency of the LFO can be changed using the Rate potentiometer on top. The LED is indicating the current speed. The Rate of the LFO may be voltage controlled using the Rate CV jack. The small potentiometer acts as an attenuator. Additionally the LFO cycle can be reset via a trigger signal at the Reset jack. The Triangle output provides a standard triangle waveform. Random supplies a randomly stepped voltage at LFO rate. This random voltage is normalized to the LFO CV in creating some interesting random voltages on the other outputs. This connection can be interrupted by inserting a patch cable to Rate CV. Using the Random Lock Switch it is possible to lock the random steps to identical patterns of 16 (mid position) or 8 (down position) steps. If the switch is positioned upwards it is completely random. Patching a voltage to RNDM CV will give you CV control of the Random Lock (switch must be in mid position). Any voltage above 3 volts will produce random steps, any voltage below 4 volts will lock the random out to a pattern of 8 steps. Pulse out is not a typical pulse wave you would expect from an LFO. It is rather a rythmical trigger producing one long pulse at the start of the cycle and a short pulse at the end. This way and by the normalized random voltage (if the CV attenuator is turned clockwise), you will have a wide range of random or locked pulses to trigger VCAs or sequencers. A simple AVR-programmer is neccessary to complete the build. Nevertheless it is a very easy build with only 37 parts in total. prev Up next

  • Path

Sequencer path / dual sequential switch / 10 HP ⇣ PATH proves to be an invaluable asset for distributing signals across various destinations while maintaining rhythmic coherence. It's equally adept at directing multiple CV signals to a single destination, resulting in dynamic and evolving envelopes. Remarkably, PATH also facilitates sequential audio signal routing and switching, adding to its versatile capabilities. 1/3 key features Dual Sequential Switch 2x4 bidirectional Outputs 2x1 bidirectional Inputs Reset Input Sequence Loop to 2, 3 or 4 Steps Mix Output Attenuverter for Each Side LED Indicators Wrong Polarity Protection specs & downloads width: 10 HP depth: 28 mm power: 45 mA @ +12V / 50 mA @ -12V documentation videos description / manual PATH is a dual four position switch that can be controlled with a trigger signal. Any signal that is fed to I/O A or I/O B is being supplied on one of the 4 fours I/O jacks depending on the switch position. This is an easy way to sequentially route one or two sources to four different destinations on each side. As the inputs are bidirectional you may also route 4 or 8 different signals to one or two destinations depending on the switch state if you insert signals into the eight I/O 1-4 jacks and forward the signal using the two I/O A and B jacks. When a trigger is inserted into the Trig Input the first jack I/O 1 is activated and a signal is passed through. With the next trigger jack I/O 2 is activated and so on. After the fourth jack the fist jack will be on again. If you want to shorten the sequence, you may use the switches to loop the sequence to 2, 3 or 4 steps on each side individually. A trigger on the Reset Inputs will reset the sequence to the first step independently for each side. Additionally the Inputs I/O A and B or the currently active I/O 1-4 jacks will be supplied on the Mix Jack depending on the direction you have patched. Each side may be attenuverted using the the potentiometers on top. An LED is indicating the currently mixed signal. prev Up next

FM - Either EXPONENTIAL or LINEAR FM, adjustable via FM switch (mid position is off). Can be generated internally or via external CV. FM VCA - The FM input´s amplification can be controlled via an internal VCA. As soon as a jack is plugged into the FM VCA input jack FM modulation will only be applied in accordance to an incoming CV signal (such as an LFO or Envelope Generator). OSC SYNC - OSC2 can be loosely or tightly synced to OSC1. OVERLOAD - Feedback Distortion with Clipping LED for all OSC2 waveforms. V/OCT - Separate 1V per octave input. OSC1´s 1V/OCT signal is multiplied via a precision buffer and normalized to OSC2´s 1V/OCT input, if no jack is present at the OSC2 V/OCT input. This routing can also be deactivated with the V/OCT INV switch. Additionally the normalized V/OCT signal can be inverted and routed to OSC2, if the V/OCT INV switch is in the down position. FM OSC (Modulation Oscillator) FM OSC only modulates OSC2´s frequency. The RATE can be set with the FM RATE knob. The oscillator´s waveform can be changed from TRIANGLE to OFF to SQUARE WAVE with the FM switch. The amount of modulation applied can be adjusted with the FM CV attenuator, if no jack is plugged into the FM input jack. An LED indicates if FM modulation is active taking any FM VCA modulation into account. With the help of the the FM switch the modulation type can be set to either exponential or linear.
