Hi everyone,
I just finished building Inaki. which I intend to use to make my stereo mix a bit more interesting.
While left channel works fine the first time, rigth one provides sound, but no delay.
PT2399 is not my good friend, I hardly understand any part of the network assciated with LPF/outputs, so I think I need some help here.
I see the following:
1. Pan LEDS work and so does ST logo :-)
2. Pan CV works as expected, so do Input levels L and R,
3. Tone on both L and R channels works (same change to tonal content and overal amplitude of sound,
4. Mix out is louder than each individual channel (is it normal?),
5. Left channel delay works
6. Right channel delay does not work
Note: I set both Gain trimmers to MID position (500k +/- 0,1%).
I asume Tone control is prior to delay effect and goes to internal mix bus? I base my assumption of the fact Tome affects THE original sound rather than the delayed one (at least in my case).
As tboubleshooting i did the following:
I swapped PT chips on both channels and nothing changed. Still L is ok and R does not provide delay, so not a chip fault I presume.
I refloated R Fdbck pot (as it seemes the most obviuos cause, since everything else seems to work). No change.
I refloated all pin headers (J1-J3) between the boards, No change.
Any idea where should I start troubleshooting?
Regards,
Peter
Hey Piotr,
The Mix out has an additional gain stage and is therefore slightly louder than the individual outputs. The tone control is before the delay input. It's Tone → Delay → Mixer.
So you can mix both channels, change the tone and what is input is also output on both channels. Just no delay on the right channel, right?
If so, I would focus primarily on the PCB connectors, especially JP2. You should also reflow IC3 and all neighboring parts. IC3 is getting +5V on pin 1?
Please let me know if you need the schematics.
Cheers, Stefan
