Hello there,
I recently completed a Sum Mix & Pan module but there appears to be an issue on the second channel (second from the left). It is silent, no sound is coming through. The issue persisted after reflowing all solder joints. The pan indicator LEDs for that channel are operational but the LED for the level is dead as well. (I have not checked if it is working at all, yet) I wanted to try and swap the VCA chip for that channel with a chip of a channel that works. Would it be possible to let me know which chip is driving which channel? Also, would a faulty LED for the audio level result in a silent channel?
Kind regards and thanks in advance,
jcw
Hey jcw, The VCA of channel 2 relies on OTA1, as well as U1, U12, U8, and U9.
LED4 is a critical component of the circuit. If it malfunctions, the channel will fail to operate properly.
If replacing OTA1 and reflowing the associated ICs doesn't resolve the issue, consider replacing LED4 as a next step. Best,
Stefan
